Industrial Landscape of Yanbu
Yanbu Industrial City on the Red Sea coast is Saudi Arabia's second-largest industrial complex, serving as the hub for the Kingdom's downstream petrochemical and refining operations. The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) manages the city, which is strategically located to serve both domestic markets and international export via the Red Sea.
Yanbu's industrial base centers on Saudi Aramco's Red Sea Refinery (YASREF), the Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company, and multiple SABIC-affiliated petrochemical complexes producing polymers, fertilizers, and chemical intermediates. The Yanbu Polysulfide facility and growing metal fabrication sector round out the industrial mix.
The city is undergoing significant expansion, with Aramco's pipeline projects connecting Yanbu to the Kingdom's eastern oil fields and new export infrastructure for refined products and petrochemical exports.
