Hager HTS Energy Meter Three Phase MID

The Hager EC3M is a three-phase DIN rail energy meter certified to the European Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) with Class 1 accuracy in accordance with IEC 62053-21. The EC3M measures three-phase active energy consumption (kWh) with balanced and unbalanced load measurement capability, making it suitable for commercial, retail, and small industrial applications where three-phase supply is standard. The meter connects directly to supplies up to 63 A per phase without current transformers, and its modular DIN rail form factor allows installation within the main distribution board directly adjacent to the main incoming circuit breaker.

Three-phase energy metering has become increasingly important in Saudi Arabia as the National Energy Efficiency Program (NEEP) expands its scope to commercial and industrial sectors. SEC's tariff structure includes a demand charge component for commercial customers above a threshold consumption level, making accurate measurement of peak demand — a feature of the EC3M — financially significant for building owners and facilities managers.
