Processing Equipment in Saudi Arabia
Processing equipment sits at the heart of every plant in Saudi Arabia that transforms raw materials into finished products — from the crude distillation units at Aramco's Ras Tanura refinery to the polypropylene reactors at SABIC's Jubail complex, from the SWCC desalination multistage flash evaporators to the dairy processing lines of Almarai. The reliability of this equipment determines plant yield, energy efficiency, and product quality.
Razz Middle East distributes world-class processing equipment across five primary categories. Industrial pumps: centrifugal (end suction, between-bearing, multistage), positive displacement (gear, screw, peristaltic, diaphragm), submersible, slurry and chemical-duty pumps rated to API 610, API 674, and ISO 13709. Heat exchangers: shell and tube, plate and frame, gasketed and brazed plate, double-pipe, and air-cooled exchangers for heat recovery and cooling duties. Compressors and blowers: reciprocating, screw, centrifugal, and diaphragm compressors from fractional to multi-MW capacity; Roots blowers and centrifugal fans for low-pressure gas movement. Separation and filtration: three-phase separators, centrifuges, hydrocyclones, bag filters, cartridge filters, activated carbon beds, and reverse osmosis membrane systems. Mixing and agitation: top-entry and side-entry agitators, inline mixers, and static mixers for reactor and tank applications.
Processing Equipment Market in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is home to the world's largest single-train gas processing facility (Aramco's Hawiyah NGL Recovery Plant), some of the largest seawater reverse osmosis desalination plants (SWCC), and petrochemical complexes that rank among the top 10 globally by capacity. Processing equipment in these facilities operates at extreme conditions: heat exchanger tube-side temperatures up to 450°C, pump suction pressures below atmospheric in vacuum distillation, and corrosive media including H₂S, HCl, and caustic soda at elevated temperatures. Equipment specifications follow API standards enforced by Aramco and SABIC.

Buying Guide: Processing Equipment for Saudi Arabia
API 610 vs ISO 13709: which pump standard applies?
API 610 (11th edition) is mandatory for all centrifugal pumps in hydrocarbon and sour-service duty at Saudi Aramco and SABIC. ISO 13709 is technically identical to API 610 but used more commonly outside the oil & gas sector (water treatment, power, general chemical). Specify the applicable standard in your RFQ.
Size for Saudi summer cooling water temperatures
Saudi process plants draw cooling water from sea or cooling towers at temperatures up to 38°C in summer — significantly higher than the 30°C typically assumed in European equipment design. Re-rate heat exchangers for actual maximum cooling water inlet temperature to avoid undersized surface area.
Anti-corrosion material selection for sea water service
Saudi Arabia's coastal plants use seawater as cooling water, which is highly corrosive. Titanium Gr. 2 tube bundles, naval brass tubesheets, and Duplex SS 2205 shells are the minimum material specification for seawater heat exchangers. Specify ASTM B338 (titanium tubes) and confirm dezincification resistance for brass components.
SASO & Regulatory Compliance — Processing Equipment
Process equipment in Saudi Arabia is governed by API standards (API 610 for pumps, API 660 for shell-and-tube heat exchangers, API 650 for atmospheric storage tanks) enforced by Saudi Aramco and SABIC, and by the Saudi Building Code (SBC) for pressure vessel registration. Pressure vessels must carry ASME Section VIII Division 1 (or Division 2 for higher-pressure service) certification. Fired heaters and boilers require additional SASO approvals and Saudi Aramco inspection. Razz Middle East provides complete material traceability packages (MTRs, hydrostatic test certificates, PMI reports) with all pressure-containing equipment.
