WEG DOL Starter Assembly MPW-25 + CWM16 (up to 1.1 kW)

The WEG DOL Starter Assembly combining the MPW-25 motor protection circuit breaker with the CWM16 contactor provides a complete, IEC 60947-4-1 coordinated direct-on-line motor starter for three-phase motors up to 1.1 kW (1.5 hp) at 400 V AC. This combination covers the widely used motor size range found in HVAC fan starters, small pump drives, lighting winch motors, and auxiliary equipment starters across Saudi industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Assembly Components and Wiring

The assembly includes: MPW-25-3-D025 MPCB (2.0–2.5 A for 1.1 kW motors at 400 V), CWM16 AC-3 contactor rated 16 A, control transformer if required, auxiliary contacts for SCADA/DCS integration, and local start/stop pushbutton station or remote terminal block. All components are mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail sub-plate, pre-wired with appropriately sized copper conductors, and labelled with component tags per Saudi project drawing conventions. The assembly is factory tested for correct operation before delivery.

IEC 60947-4-1 Coordination

Type 2 coordination is achieved with this MPCB + contactor pairing at fault levels up to 50 kA at 400 V. Under short-circuit conditions, neither device sustains damage requiring replacement — only the MPCB resets and/or fuse replacements are needed at most. This high coordination level is mandated by Saudi Aramco and SABIC MCC specifications to minimise unplanned downtime and maintenance cost in production-critical facilities.
