Legrand XL3 S 4000 Distribution Cabinet

The Legrand XL3 S 4000 is a heavy-duty metal floor-standing distribution cabinet engineered for main low-voltage switchboards, industrial distribution centres, and large commercial distribution panels rated up to 4000 A. Standing 2200 mm tall with a 600 mm or 800 mm width and 400 mm depth, the XL3 S 4000 provides a certified IP30 to IP55 metallic enclosure solution for housing main incoming circuit breakers, busbars up to 4000 A, distribution MCCBs, metering equipment, and power management modules. The cabinet is constructed from hot-dipped galvanised steel with an electrostatic powder-coat finish in RAL 7035 light grey — the standard colour for industrial switchboards across the Gulf region — and is type-tested to IEC 61439-1 and IEC 61439-2, the international low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies standards that are referenced in Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES) and SEC grid connection specifications.

The XL3 S 4000's busbar system is available in copper or aluminium in ratings from 630 A to 4000 A, with all busbar connections torque-specified and colour-coded for phase identification. The main horizontal busbar distributes power to the vertical distribution busbars feeding each vertical column of the switchboard, and the entire busbar system is accessible from the front with no need to remove cable ducting — a significant maintenance advantage in continuous-operation process plants where minimising downtime is paramount. The cable entry and routing system uses separate top and bottom cable compartments with removable gland plates, allowing all power and control cables to be pre-installed before the switchboard is commissioned, reducing on-site installation time. The modular construction enables the cabinet to be shipped in sections and assembled on-site at large giga-projects — particularly relevant for NEOM and ROSHN housing developments where switchroom access may be restricted.
