Mitsubishi CC-Link IE TSN Gateway

The Mitsubishi NZ2GN-EFT-4 CC-Link IE TSN Gateway is a protocol translation device that bridges the CC-Link IE TSN industrial Ethernet network — the backbone of Mitsubishi's iQ-R automation platform — with external systems including OPC-UA servers, MQTT brokers, EtherNet/IP adapters, and MODBUS TCP masters. In the context of Saudi Arabia's growing Industry 4.0 adoption, the NZ2GN-EFT-4 occupies a critical integration role: it allows Saudi oil and gas operators, petrochemical plant DCS engineers, and manufacturing MES integrators to extract real-time production data from Mitsubishi iQ-R and MELSEC Q automation systems and push it to cloud analytics platforms, digital twin models, and energy management systems without modifying the real-time control program or exposing the PLC to external network access. The gateway isolates the deterministic CC-Link IE TSN control network from the non-deterministic enterprise IT network while simultaneously providing structured, timestamped data at up to 1 ms resolution for each CC-Link IE TSN node on the segment.

The NZ2GN-EFT-4 supports up to 4 CC-Link IE TSN ports on the field side, allowing a single gateway unit to aggregate data from up to 120 slave station addresses across the network segments — sufficient to cover a typical Saudi skid-mounted process module with servo drives, I/O stations, variable frequency drives, and field instruments all connected on CC-Link IE TSN. On the IT side, OPC-UA with certificate-based authentication ensures data confidentiality and integrity, satisfying the cybersecurity requirements imposed by Saudi Aramco's ICSAS-010 standard for OT-IT connectivity in oil and gas facilities. The integrated MQTT client enables direct connection to AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT Hub, and ENOWA (NEOM's digital infrastructure subsidiary) cloud platforms using TLS 1.3 encryption, meeting the data residency and security requirements expected by Saudi government digital transformation programmes.
