About Acti9 iC60 Miniature Circuit Breakers and RCBOs

Acti9 is Schneider's modular DIN-rail protection programme and the A9 reference carries every selection you make. Four things are encoded: the number of poles, the rated current, the tripping curve and the breaking capacity. Curve B trips earliest on inrush and suits resistive and lighting circuits; curve C is the general-purpose choice for mixed and small motor loads; curve D tolerates the highest inrush and is used on transformers and motors that would nuisance-trip a C. Breaking capacity is the number that decides whether the device is legal at that point in the installation, and it is set by the prospective fault current where the board sits, not by preference.
