LS Electric LSLV Soft Starter SSC Series

The LS Electric LSLV Soft Starter SSC Series is a comprehensive range of electronic motor soft starters designed to provide controlled ramp-up starting and soft stopping of AC induction motors in industrial applications across Saudi Arabia. Available from 22 kW to 630 kW on 380–690 V three-phase supply (models SSC-022 through SSC-630), the SSC soft starter reduces inrush starting current to 2–3 times rated motor current — compared to 6–8 times for direct-on-line starting — eliminating the mechanical shock, voltage dip, and supply network disturbance that direct starting causes in pumps, fans, compressors, and conveyors. This makes the SSC soft starter the preferred choice for motor starting in Saudi Arabia's industrial facilities where supply transformer capacity is limited, or where mechanical drivetrain longevity is critical.

The SSC series includes a comprehensive suite of motor protection functions built into the soft starter controller: electronic overload protection (class 5–30 selectable), phase loss and phase imbalance protection, motor thermistor input, under-voltage and over-voltage trips, and stall protection. These functions eliminate the need for a separate motor protection relay in many panel designs, simplifying the MCC cubicle layout and reducing component cost. The soft starter also provides a motor run-up time monitoring function that trips the motor if it fails to reach full speed within a set time — protecting pump and compressor seals and bearings from extended start-up stress. RS-485 Modbus RTU communication is standard on SSC units from 45 kW upward, enabling integration into SCADA and BMS systems for remote starting, monitoring, and fault logging.
