WEG Oil-Immersed Distribution Transformer 11kV/0.4kV

The WEG Oil-Immersed Distribution Transformer is a conventional ONAN (oil natural air natural) power transformer for primary distribution from 11 kV to 0.4 kV, manufactured in ratings from 50 kVA to 2,500 kVA, covering the core requirement for MV/LV step-down at industrial facilities, commercial premises, and utility distribution substations throughout Saudi Arabia. The transformer uses high-quality cold-rolled grain-oriented (CRGO) silicon steel laminations in the core and oxygen-free copper conductors in the windings, wound and assembled in WEG's certified manufacturing facilities under IEC 60076 quality control. Mineral oil insulation and cooling is the industry standard for outdoor pad-mounted and pole-mounted distribution applications, providing proven reliability, long service life (typically 30–40 years), and straightforward maintenance through periodic oil testing and Buchholz relay inspection.

The WEG distribution transformer is designed and tested to IEC 60076-1 (general), IEC 60076-2 (temperature rise), IEC 60076-3 (dielectric tests), and IEC 60076-11 does not apply to oil-type. Standard testing includes routine type tests — impedance, no-load loss, load loss, dielectric withstand — with individual test certificates issued for each unit. No-load losses are declared to C0 class per IEC 60076-20 Tier 1, and Cc (low-loss eco-design) options are available for projects with loss capitalization tender requirements. Off-circuit tap changer with ±2×2.5% taps is standard; on-load tap changers (OLTC) are available for voltage-sensitive industrial applications. SEC distribution connection specification DEP-SEC-TRF requires specific impedance values and vector group (Dyn11) that the WEG DT range satisfies as standard for the 11 kV/0.4 kV version.
