A Keyence fibre sensor is always two order lines. The FU head is passive: it carries no electronics and is chosen by the sensing mode, through beam or reflective, by the head geometry, straight, right angle, sleeve or flat, and by whether the environment needs a high temperature or chemically resistant version. The FS amplifier does the work. It converts the optical signal, holds the threshold, and provides the switching output; amplifiers mount on a DIN rail and link side by side so a bank shares power and gains mutual interference prevention, or they come as cable and connector types where rail space does not exist. Output polarity is carried in the model suffix, with P for PNP and N for NPN sinking outputs, and the two cannot be swapped once the PLC input card is wired. GS interlock switches monitor guard doors and are ordered with the actuator and, where needed, the locking function. GL light curtains are supplied as matched transmitter and receiver pairs defined by protective height and beam pitch, since pitch decides the smallest object detected. For light curtains, quote the protective height and beam pitch of the existing pair and confirm whether mounting brackets and cordsets are needed, since those are separate items. For vision sensors, state the working distance and whether the existing unit has integrated lighting.
