The SKF H2317 adapter sleeve provides a simple, reliable means of mounting self-aligning bearings with a tapered bore onto a smooth cylindrical shaft of around 85 mm. The sleeve is drawn up under the bearing inner ring using a lock nut and locking device, creating an interference fit without the need for shaft machining or shoulders. This speeds installation of spherical roller and self-aligning ball bearings on plummer-block and shaft-line arrangements.
