Unlike conventional or high-rate thickeners that produce pumpable slurry underflow, the EcoPaste generates a non-Newtonian paste that retains its shape after deposition, enabling dry-stack or paste tailings facilities that dramatically reduce the water footprint and environmental risk of tailings storage compared with conventional tailings dams.
