Limitorque LMX Electric Multi-Turn Actuator

The Limitorque LMX is an electric multi-turn valve actuator manufactured by Flowserve Limitorque — the global market leader in process valve automation with a Saudi ARAMCO Approved Vendor List position that has been continuously maintained for over three decades. The LMX05 model is a torque-rated unit designed for gate valves, globe valves, sluice gates, and multi-turn butterfly valves in sizes from 3" through 24" — the valve range that constitutes the large majority of automated on-off and throttling valves on ARAMCO GOSPs, gas compression stations, NGL fractionation trains, and offshore platform production manifolds across the Eastern Province. The LMX's modular design separates the actuator electronics, motor, and gearbox into individual replaceable sub-assemblies, enabling field repair and module swap in under two hours without returning the actuator to a workshop — a critical feature on ARAMCO production-critical valves where access to a repair workshop during production operations is not practicable.

The LMX05 is rated to NEMA 4X / IP67 environmental ingress protection, designed for the combined dust, sand, humidity, and salt-laden atmosphere of Saudi Arabia's coastal and desert operating environments. The actuator's operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C covers the full Saudi climate from winter nights in Riyadh to summer peak temperatures in the Eastern Province and Rub' al-Khali desert well locations. The integral controls package includes a HART-compatible positioner, local/remote handwheel operation, partial stroke testing (PST) capability for ESD valve proof-testing without process shutdown, and a programmable logic capability for valve interlock logic execution locally in the actuator — the feature set required for ARAMCO's automated block valve (ABV) and ESD valve applications at GOSPs, gas plants, and NGL fractionators where the actuator must operate independently of the DCS during communication network failures.
