CHINT NXC-65 AC Contactor

The CHINT NXC-65 AC Contactor is a heavy-duty 3-pole device rated at 65 A under AC3 duty and 100 A under AC1 duty, providing 30 kW (40 HP) motor switching capacity at 415 V AC. Built to IEC 60947-4-1 and carrying SASO certification for the Saudi market, the NXC-65 is designed for direct-on-line and star-delta starter applications involving medium-power motors in pumping stations, compressor houses, HVAC chillers, and industrial process equipment. Coil voltages available include 220 V AC and 110 V AC at 50 Hz, with a 24 V DC coil option for safety-interlock and PLC-controlled applications where a low-voltage control supply is mandatory. The main contacts are built with silver-alloy composite tips and a proven triple-break arc extinction system that suppresses arcing during both AC3 motor interruption and AC4 plugging/inching duty, significantly extending contact life versus two-break designs at the same current rating.

The NXC-65 shares the modular accessory platform of the NXC family: auxiliary contact blocks (up to 2NO+2NE), mechanical interlock kits for reversing contactors, top-mounted timing relays for automatic star-delta sequencing, and suppressor modules for coil transient clamping. For star-delta applications — the most common reduced-voltage starting method used in Saudi Arabia's pumping and HVAC projects — a factory-assembled three-contactor star-delta kit is available, pre-wired and tested for 30–45 kW motor duty with correctly rated main, star, and delta contactors and a factory-set transition timer. This saves panel builders significant wiring time and eliminates the risk of misconnection during assembly, which is a persistent cause of motor winding failures on star-delta starters assembled by less experienced personnel.

Saudi Arabia's water sector — governed principally by SWCC for desalination and NWC for municipal distribution — consumes large quantities of 30–55 kW motor contactors for vertical turbine and centrifugal pump drives in pumping stations, desalination intake screens, and booster station motor control centres. SWCC's massive Ras Al-Khair and Shoaibah desalination complexes use hundreds of pump starters in this range, and NWC's capital investment programme under Vision 2030 has resulted in dozens of new pumping stations being commissioned across Riyadh, Mecca, Medina, and the Eastern Province each year. ARAMCO's crude oil pipelines and water injection systems also use 30–45 kW motor starters for booster pump and injection pump auxiliaries throughout the Eastern Province. At all of these sites, the NXC-65's combination of SASO certification, IEC compliance, competitive pricing, and proven field reliability makes it a strong contender against ABB, Schneider, and Siemens contactors in the same current class.
