LS AHF Active Harmonic Filter

The LS AHF Active Harmonic Filter is an active power conditioning device rated at 30 to 200 A that continuously monitors and compensates harmonic currents from the 2nd to the 50th order, reducing total harmonic distortion (THD-I) at the point of common coupling to below 5% — meeting the limits of IEEE 519-2014, IEC 61000-3-12, and Saudi Electric Company power quality requirements for industrial customers. The LSAHF-100A model provides 100 A of active compensation current, simultaneously handling reactive power compensation and load unbalance correction in addition to harmonic filtering, making it a complete power quality solution in a single compact DIN-rail-mounted or floor-standing enclosure. The filter uses a high-speed DSP control algorithm sampling at 25 kHz to detect harmonic content and inject equal and opposite compensation currents in real time, with compensation response under 0.1 ms — fast enough to handle even rapidly varying harmonic sources such as servo drives and arc furnaces.

The AHF connects in parallel with the non-linear load at the LV distribution bus and requires no modifications to the existing wiring or load equipment, enabling retrofit installation into existing switchboards with minimal downtime. The unit communicates via Modbus RTU for integration with power management systems and provides front-panel measurements of THD before and after compensation, harmonic spectrum display by order, reactive power compensation status, and load unbalance percentage — giving facility engineers real-time visibility of power quality improvement. The unit operates from -10°C to +45°C ambient and is rated for continuous 24/7 service, suitable for installations at data centres, semiconductor fabrication plants, and other facilities requiring constant high power quality.
