Epiroc FlexiROC T35 Top-Hammer Drill Rig

The Epiroc FlexiROC T35 is a versatile, crawler-mounted top-hammer surface drill rig designed for production and pre-split drilling in quarries, construction sites, and small to medium open-pit mining operations. It drills 89–127 mm diameter holes with a feed-mounted COP 1838+ rock drill delivering 18 kW of percussion power — a combination that produces penetration rates of 1.0–3.5 m/min in medium-hard rock such as limestone, granite, and basalt. The rig's modular design accommodates both angle drilling (up to 30° off vertical) and vertical production drilling without changing tooling configurations, making it the most flexible rig in its class for contractors who move between quarry benching, road cuts, and foundation excavation work in a single mobilisation.

The FlexiROC T35 is widely used across Saudi Arabia's construction and quarrying sector, which has expanded dramatically under Vision 2030's infrastructure programme. Limestone quarries supplying the Saudi Cement cluster in the Eastern Province, Arabian Cement in Yanbu, and Yamama Cement in Riyadh all require reliable, productive top-hammer drilling for bench preparation. Pre-split drilling creates a row of closely-spaced holes along a final excavation line, fired simultaneously to create a clean fracture plane that limits blast vibration transmission beyond the cut line — a technique mandated on ARAMCO berms, pipeline corridors, and facility expansion sites in rocky terrain. The T35 achieves the parallel, accurately-spaced holes required for pre-split accuracy thanks to its electronic hole navigation system, which displays inclination and azimuth in real time and corrects for slope and crawler positioning errors before collaring.
