Smart ROC's MWD sensors measure penetration rate and bit torque in real time, generating a formation hardness map that enables blast engineers to adjust charge loading per hole for optimal fragmentation.

Saudi Quarrying — Limestone, Basalt and Dolomite

Saudi Arabia has thousands of active limestone, basalt and dolomite quarries supplying aggregate, cement raw material and road base. FlexiROC T40R rigs drill pre-split and production blast-holes in 76–102 mm diameter. In quarries where aggregate quality is critical (e.g., supplying NEOM's concrete batching plants), precise blast-hole drilling for controlled fragmentation reduces oversize and undersize yield, lowering secondary crushing costs.

Underground Mining — Emerging Saudi Applications

As Ma'aden and smaller operators explore underground mineralisation below existing open pits, Epiroc's Boomer tunnelling jumbos for access development and Simba production rigs for stope drilling are entering the Saudi mining scene.
