FLSmidth ATOX 37.5 Vertical Roller Mill

The FLSmidth ATOX 37.5 Vertical Roller Mill is a high-efficiency vertical grinding system primarily used for raw material preparation and coal grinding in the cement and lime industries, and increasingly in mineral processing for dry ultra-fine grinding of industrial minerals. The ATOX model number denotes the table diameter in decimetres — the ATOX37.5 therefore has a 3750mm grinding table — placing it in the medium-large size range and making it appropriate for cement plant capacities in the 2000–3500 t/d clinker range for raw meal grinding. The ATOX's compact vertical architecture integrates the grinding table, three conical rollers, a dynamic separator, and a hot gas duct in a single housing, dramatically reducing the building footprint and civil costs compared with horizontal tube mill arrangements.

The ATOX 37.5's three grinding rollers are hydraulically loaded against the rotating grinding table by a common hydraulic pressure frame, allowing the roller force to be adjusted dynamically in response to variations in feed hardness, moisture, and throughput — a significant advantage in Saudi cement plants where raw material quarry composition varies seasonally and with quarry face advancement. The integrated dynamic separator uses rotating blades to classify the ground material, returning coarse particles to the grinding table while passing finished product to the downstream filter. The separator speed can be adjusted from the control room to change product fineness without stopping the mill, enabling rapid response to changes in raw mix specification.
